Muay Thai for Life 9.0 a resounding success in Stockholm return!

Northern Europe’s leading striking promotion returned to the Swedish capital of Stockholm with Muay Thai for Life 9.0 – which may very well be the best event in the promotions history.

The main event would see scores being settled as Sweden’s Jonathan Larsson faced off with Luke Bar of the UK. Heading into the fight they each held wins over each others friends, Jack Cooper and Sanny Dahlbeck respectively, with both looking to get a win for themselves, their friends and their nations.

Larsson quickly established a lead with vicious leg kicks – one of his most feared weapons. While Bar showed the heart of a lion and stuck in the fight much longer than most, he eventually succumbed to a TKO by way of leg kicks in the third round.

The co-main event would be a tale of redemption as Dalian Dawody fought Sixten Larsson. Both fighters had incredible merits but lacked a win in MTFL. The two engaged in an exciting firefight throughout the coarse of five rounds, with both fighters having their moments. Larsson would open up a cut on the eyebrow of his opponent, but Dawody was more accurate and would end up scoring a split decision win.

The fight that stole the show, however, was undoubtedly the catchweight bout between Jonathan Höglund and Benjamin Dolnak of Slovakia. The two engaged in a thrilling, violent and brutal war with Dolnak dropping his foe more than once, but also receiving a count two to several unanswered knees. In the opening seconds of the fifth round Dolnak landed hard leg kicks followed by a succession of punches that felled Höglund once and for all. The fight undoubtedly goes down as one of the best in MTFL history.

Aside from that wonder kin Vilda Ekhorn lined up her third straight MTFL win following three rounds with Slovakian kickboxing champ Viktorie Bulinova, Lisa Larsson also extended her win streak after opening up a grizzly cut in the forehead of her opponent Frida Lindberg, forcing a stop to the contest.

Additionally, MTFL newcomers Chonlathorn “Ommi” Mingsupphakun, Emil Näsman, Linnea Danielsson, Patrik Stern, Jesper Fällman and Rima Allman all produced fantastic wins in their promotional debuts.
